Collective Worship- Thankfulness
Bible Story: The Song of the Sea – Exodus 15:1-1
After Moses and the Israelites fled Egypt, they were pursued by the Egyptian army. They were chased to the Red Sea with no way of escape because of the enemy behind them and the sea in front of them. God miraculously parted the sea and made a way for the Children of Israel to pass through on dry ground. The army of Egypt followed them into the sea. When the Israelites passed safely over to the other side, God released the waters which He held back for the Israelites and drowned Pharaoh’s army.
Exodus 15 is a chapter dedicated to praising God for this miraculous deliverance from the enemy. Moses, and Israel, were careful to give God thanks for his protection.
Do you know any other bible stories that show thanks?
What have you been thankful for this week?
Sometimes life gets me down and I find it hard to see things to be thankful for. Open my eyes to see the gifts you’ve given me in my life. I’m going to start by thanking you for loving me enough to come to earth and die so we can live together forever.
How many tricky words can you remember off the top of your head? Write them down. How many did you spell correctly? If you need to, practice the ones that you spelt incorrectly.
To write a few sentences describing the favourite gift that you received for Christmas. Don’t forget when describing an item we need to use lots of adjectives. As an extra challenge try and join two ideas together using a conjunction (and, also, but although etc).
I would love to see some of the descriptive sentences you have written.
Have a look at the videos above and have a go at the work below.

Throughout this Learning Quest we will be looking into Antarctica. Can you use the internet to find some interesting facts about Antarctica? Below are some questions that you could use to help.
Where is Antarctica?
What is the weather like in Antarctica?
Are there any animals in Antarctica?
Can people live there?
Do they have the same seasons as us?
In music this term we will be looking into different types of music, starting with Blues this week.
Have a listen to the song below, thinking about the questions as you listen.
Do you like this song? Doesn’t matter if you liked it or not but why did you or didn’t you like it?
What instruments can you hear?
What is the tempo of the song? Is it fast or slow?
This is a classic blues song written by Riley B.King (born September 16, 1925), known by the step name B.B. King. It is a slow blues written in 1964 and is a sad song about being downhearted in love.
Don’t forget we would love to see the work that you have done today.
