Dr Walker's Church of England Primary School

An Exceptional Place to Flourish

Special Educational Needs

Our school is an inclusive school and offers to meet the needs of all pupils and their families, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). We have a shared expectation that all pupils, regardless of their special educational needs, should be offered inclusive teaching which will enable them to make the best possible progress in school so they know they are a valued member of the school community.

Ofsted (June 2019):

The actions of leaders to promote equality of opportunity have ensured that pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are doing well. The special educational needs and/or disabilities coordinator (SENCo) works closely with parents and other professionals to help meet individual pupils’ needs. The SENCo provides high-quality training for staff so that they can support these pupils well.
