Children's Mental Health Week
Children’s Mental Health Week is taking place on 1-7 February 2021. This year's theme is Express Yourself. I will be setting up a new folder with a range of resources and activities for the children to try at home. These activities can be accessed at any time during remote learning.
If you are finding it difficult accessing the learning online I am able to provide a weekly printed pack of resources which can be collected from school on Tuesdays. A number of families in Badger's class are doing this already and I am more than happy to provide more, if it helps. Please let me know by 1pm on Monday 1st February by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like next week's learning printed. If you already collect printed packs, there is no need to get in touch as your packs will be ready as normal
'Star of the Week' will continue while children are learning remotely (thank you to the parent who suggested it ). On a Friday, in the 'Collective Worship' folder I will post a video about that week's 'Star of the Week'. It could be a child in school or someone learning remotely. If they are learning from home, I will email you a certificate and a link to a short video to play to them. It would be great if you could take a picture of your child with their certificate and send it over to email@example.com so it can be shared on Twitter and on the website. Please don't feel you have to print the certificate. So, without further ado, I'm off to announce this week's 'Star of the Week'...
Today, Gavin Williamson has officially announced that Key Stage 2 SATs will not be taking place this year. This will be a relief for children who, despite already working hard towards their end of year assessments, will not face any added pressure. In terms of the learning set, they will continue with structured lessons to complete at home to ensure they are still secondary school ready for September.
It was so lovely to speak with you all today. It's great to hear how well the children are getting on in school and at home - a huge thank you to you all! If I didn't get a chance to speak with you on the phone today and you'd still like a call, email firstname.lastname@example.org and I will arrange another time to call you this week. Next week, on Thursday 14th of January, I will call you for a parent consultation meeting. If you would prefer a morning or afternoon call, please let me know and I'll do my best to make this possible.
