An Exceptional Place to Flourish

Learning Quest

For today's Learning Quest we are going to do something that is far easier to do at home than it is at school, because you'll need a tablet device or smart phone. You are going to have a go at making your own stop-motion animation. First of all ask an adult to download a simple stop-motion app for the device. Then use the video below to help you learn the key tips for getting starting with stop-motion animation.

Here's the main things to remember.

1. Find a clear, flat space for you to take your pictures.

2. Set up your tablet/ smart phone in a place that it won't move. A tripod would be ideal, but if you don't have one then mark where it is set-up before you start. Once you've started taking photos, don't move it until you're done!
3. Only move the objects/ characters small amounts for each photo.

4. Once you're ready to start, make sure you think about what you're going to make happen before you start.
