I spent a little bit of time in my favourite place this week. Can you guess where I've been? I'll give you three clues...
1. It's in Fyfield
2. It is next to a field
3. It is normally full of lots of children.
Did you guess? I was in school! I spend some of last week getting our classroom ready for the children who might be coming back in a couple of weeks. It was strange being there without you all and it was very quiet!
I've got a big favour to ask you all - I'd love it if you wrote me a letter. You can pop this in the post and send it to school or have your parents send it over to me in an email. These letters won't be shared on the website so use it as an opportunity to share any worries you might have or let me know what you've been up to at home. Who knows...you might even get a reply
The videos in the English section are the last 3 chapters of 'Pig Heart Boy' and there's also a sneak preview of our new book too
Hope you all have a lovely week
English Writing Task
Your final English writing task is to write a Titanic themed poem. It could be a description of the iceberg, a rhyming poem about the ship or maybe an acrostic poem. I have included some examples as inspiration.
Using the internet, find out what scientists have learned since studying the wreck of the Titanic. You can present your findings in a format of your choice and add it to you scrapbook.
Use the internet to help research the following:
This research will help you with a range of activities that have been set this week.
In 1997 the film ‘Titanic’ was released. Your art activity for this week is to create a film poster for your own ‘Titanic’ film. You can decide what actors and actresses to include in your film poster - it could even be you!
Parents – please note that children are not being asked to watch the film to complete this activity.
Continue to create a model of the Titanic. You can use recycled materials to help with this – food packaging boxes to make the main ship and toilet rolls for the funnels. It would be amazing if you could tweet or email over pictures as you make it.
Find out about the incredible stories of some of the survivors from the Titanic. You can present your findings in a format of your choice (diary, information poster/leaflet, biography, interview, etc).
Explore the wreck of the Titanic. What have the divers found when exploring the wreck? Present your findings in a format of your choice (list, post-it-notes of information, leaflet, poster, etc) and add it to your scrapbook.
Journaling Prompt – the questions in my head
Mindfulness – Choose a subject to focus your thoughts on or simply write about whatever arises in your mind. If you can’t think of what to write then write ‘I can’t think of what to write…’ Do whatever you need to in order to keep writing for 3 minutes.
Thought of the Week – Would you rather live on the moon or live on Mars?
Help me spend today with a smile on my face,
Love in my heart,
Joy in His grace,
And my thinking cap on all day,
If you'd like your prayer featured on the class page, just send it over to Miss Morley
