Good Morning Hedgehogs! Here's to another week of a lovely weather and spending time with family at home!

I've found lots more activities for you to do this week, have a go and don't forget to share them with us!

First task: create a mini prediction postcard. What do you think will happen next? Why? What evidence is there to help you explain?

Once you have completed the prediction, watch Chapter 5!

Second Task: Imagine you are Varjak, what can you see? How do you feel? What can you smell? Describe, describe, describe!

Then, watch chapter 6!

Third Task: You are a newspaper reporter and you are the first to get the breaking story about the arrival of the Gentleman and his black cats, including the fight!

Use the checklist below to write your newspaper article.

English Task 4

I have loaded another SPaG mat below. Make sure you choose the correct year group and work through the tasks.

As well as making sure you get onto Sumdog, there are two tasks for Maths again this week.

The first task is a Maths of the Day activity you can do at home. Make sure you open up the one for your year group. I've chosen activities that link to what you have already been learning in Maths for extra practice.

Year 3 - Yours is Fraction Fun

Year 4 - Yours is Negative Shuttling

The second task is to use the video on the White Rose Maths Website and complete the lessons beginning Summer Term Week 2, there is one lesson per day. You can complete as many as you wish. The choice is yours.

The links are below!

I know some of you have been working hard on the other Art activities still, so carry on with those if you want to! I have also found this Egyptian Flextangle activity for you to download and try. I've put an example of what a finished flextangle looks like below!

Design and Technology

This is another activity that might be easier once you have had a look at the History activity! Can you design a sarcophagus (a stone coffin, typically covered with a sculpture or inscription and associated with the ancient civilizations of Egypt)? T

Can you build it with recycled materials too? Or maybe you have Lego at home that you want to build it with!

There are two activities again for Science this week. The first is learning about how water travels through plants. Watch the video and then draw a diagram that clearly shows how water travels through all of the parts of a plant. Make sure you label each part of the plant! If you are able to get hold of the things you need, have a go at colouring some plants too! Don't worry if not though, I'm sure it's something we can have a go at when we are back in school! :)

Task 2: Have a go at this dissolving experiment if you have the things you need at home. If you don't have them, don't panic, just wait until you can!

What do you know about Mummies? Write down some ideas before you find out!

Go through the Powerpoint (as a slideshow! Press F5 when you open it up!) and complete the different activities. You can set this out as a double information page in your book. I've also added two of the activities below if you want to print them out!

Last week you looked at the River Nile. This week, I would like you to have a go at labelling the different parts of a river. Try some first, then do some research to see if you can fill in the rest. THEN you can download the sheet and check the answers!

Over the next few weeks, we are going to start making a class Wiki. The first thing we are going to do is log onto the Wiki and make a page for yourself.

The log in details are as follows

Password: Hedgehogs

When you log in the first page you will see that it tells you some of the different thing you can do to the Wiki.

What I want you to do is follow the instructions to make a page for yourself.

When you have made a page, give it a title.

Then give it a sub title of 'What I have been doing'

Write a little bit about what you have been upto.

Add onto your page what you know about personal information. What should you share and what should you not share online? Why shouldn't you share it?

Listen to the piece of Egyptian music below. How does it compare to the music from the first week? Which one do you prefer and why? Can you follow the beat on this one? What instruments can you hear?

Ancient Egyptian Music - Pharaoh Ramses II

Ancient Egyptian music about the most powerful of all the pharaohs who was an excellent warrior, builder, and military general.

Get stuck in with Joe Wicks or Oti Mabuse, whichever you prefer! I'll put two more videos below for you to have a go at!

As an extra task, try and do 26 of one exercise each day. For example, today: 26 star jumps, tomorrow: 26 sit ups, Wednesday: 26 rolypolys......

Why have I said 26? Well, it was meant to be the marathon yesterday and they run 26 miles!

This week, I would like you to learn about the special places within Christianity. Look through the Powerpoint slides below and then choose one of the special places and make a poster or write a postcard about it.

Mindfulness Activities

Activity 1: Complete a journaling page like you have been doing in school. This time I would like you to use the prompt 'If animals could talk...'

Activity 2: Find a space to lay down in and close your eyes. Think about what you are physically feeling, the sounds that you hear and any smells that may be present. What do you notice is your strongest sense when you close your eyes? Why do you think this?

Round this table, here to pray

First we thank you for the day

For our family and our friends

Gifts of grace that heaven lends

Living water, daily bread

Countless blessings our God sends

Thank you, Jesus, for them all

For the great ones and the small

When we're happy, when we're sad

On the good days and the bad

We are grateful, we are glad
