Good Morning Caterpillars,
I hope you are all well and enjoying the beautiful weather we are currently having. I was so impressed by all of the lovely work I was sent last week. If you haven't checked it out make sure you have a look on the 'Celebrating Home Learning' tab on our class page. You are all SUPERSTARS and I am very proud of you!
Here is my new weekly update, I have planned another 12 colour challenges for you to do at home. I have put each challenge on this page to make it more accessible but I have still uploaded the challenges onto a word document if you would prefer to print these out.
If you require your child's Phonics Bug log-in please email me and I will reply as soon as I can. Remember when reading a book on Phonics Bug to click the bug button (there is one at the start and one at the end of the book). This then registers the book as 'finished' and you can earn Phonics Bug Rewards!- It's really cool! Once finished new books should be unlocked.
I have also set a few challenges on Phonics Bug for you to complete these are a recap of some of the sounds we have already learnt this year in phonics.
Please do email me if you have any questions. I love seeing all of your work so please send me any photos/updates of what you get up too. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org
See you all soon and take care,
Use your breakfast, lunch or dinner to experiment with halves. When using a knife make sure you do this carefully! For example can you cut your pizza in half?
Play Penguin Phonics! Can you read each word and feed it to the penguin? Use the resources below to help you play. If you do not have a printer you could draw fish and write the words on them. Then draw a penguin to feed.
Draw a number line to 20. Ask a grown-up to shout out a number. How quick can you find it? Can you find one more and one less than that number?
Write a card to a friend or family member you haven't seen in a while. Ask them how they are and write about what you have been doing at home.
Draw a family member. Label and write three sentences about them. You could include what they look like, what their hobbies are or what their favourite colour is?
Can ice grow? Complete the science experiment using the resource below. Observe what happens, why did it happen? Can you explain what happened to a grown-up?
Make a fruit kebab. Can you create a repeating pattern with the fruit? If chopping the fruit can you cut each piece in half?
This term's power of reading book is about a penguin. Create a fact file about penguins. Watch Andy's Wild Adventures on BBC iplayer, it might give you a little bit of help.
Phonics Play is offering free access at the moment. The children love playing these games in class. Play Buried Treasure. Start with phase 2 then phase 3.
Internet Safety Challenge
As lots of us are using the internet at the moment, it is very important we know how to stay safe online. Please share this powerpoint with your child and talk about using the internet safely.
Thank you for all of the heroes who work for the NHS.
