Good Morning Caterpillars
How are you all? Did you have a lovely bank holiday weekend?
I've been going on lots of lovely walks with my dogs and really enjoying this wonderful weather. I have also been doing lots and lots of baking (when I can get hold of flour). I have found a few great recipes that I can't wait to try out. You may see them posted on here in a couple of weeks.
Here is another weekly update. At the bottom of this page I have uploaded a couple of phonics videos. Watch these to help refresh your memory of all the sounds and tricky words we have learnt this year, I hope you find them helpful.

If you require your child's Phonics Bug log-in please email me and I will reply as soon as I can. Remember when reading a book to click the bug button
(there is one at the start and one at the end of the book). This then registers the book as 'finished' and you can earn Phonics Bug Rewards! - It's really cool! Once finished new books should be unlocked.

Make a dinosaur peg puppet!
You will need:

Follow this recipe and make dinosaur slime! Can you make up a story about a dinosaur?
Play Don’t Say 20!
This game if for 2 players. On their turn the players choose to continue the count with 1,2 or 3 numbers. The next player continues the count. E.g if the first player counts 1,2 the second player could count 3 or 3,4,5. The aim is to avoid saying 20.
Superstar challenge: Can you use the 10 frames and counters as you count on?
Follow a recipe. Ask a grown up to take photos of each step. Once completed ask your grown-up to print out these pictures. Can you place each step in the correct order?
Alternative option: You could draw each step on a piece of paper.
Build a dinosaur out of junk modelling materials. Can you name any 3D shapes you are using? I can't wait to see all of your amazing creations!
Play dinosaur snap! This game will help you learn the days of the week too. Spilt the pack of cards evenly so each person as the same amount of cards. Take it in turns to place down a card. If the card matches the last card quickly say snap! The other player will then have to pick up all of the cards in the pile. The winner is the first person to get rid of all their cards.
Listen and sing along to our tricky word songs. Can you practice writing these using a range of materials? How adventurous can you get? You could use chalk, pens, paint, shaving foam etc.
