Today in English we are looking at onomatopoeia. Onomatopoeia is a word which sounds like what it means.

'Thud', 'crash', 'bang' and 'buzz' are all examples

Year 1:

I have added a word mat below with some onomatopoeias on them. Can you come up with a sentence for 5 of these words. You are welcome to do more then 5 if you would like to.

 

Year 2:

Start off by writing a sentence for 2 of the onomatopoeias in the document below.

Once you have done that below is a word document which contains some sentences. Can you think of an onomatopoeia for each of those words?

Hint: you can use the word mat to help you.
