Today we are looking into glossaries in more detail and how we can use a dictionary to make our own glossary.
The dictionary defines a glossary as:
an alphabetical list of words relating to a specific subject, text, or dialect, with explanations; a brief dictionary.
Below are some examples of what a glossary may look like in a non fiction book.
We are going to use a dictionary to create our own glossary of words you may need to define in a non fiction book about penguins or Antarctica. Below is a video of how to use a dictionary, have a watch of it and then try and write definitions for the words below.

flightless
blubber
Year 1: As well as the words above can you think of one of your own words (relating to Antarctica or Penguins).
Year 2: As well as the words above can you come up with 3 of your own words (relating to Antarctica or penguins) and then put the words in alphabetical order.
