Dr Walker's Church of England Primary School

An Exceptional Place to Flourish

English

Yesterday, in school, we started looking back at all 6 of the Power of Reading books that we have done over the year. We've covered a range of genres, styles and themes. We've looked at mythical stories from the past, important historical events, environmental issues, and a bunch of fun fiction stories along the way. Here's a reminder of the books we have looked at this year:

Yesterday I asked you to write your own blurbs for these stories. Today I'd like us to go a little deeper into a book of your choice, by writing a book review for one of these books. Use this activity to think in depth about the book of your choice and fill in as much detail as you can. I've given you a choice of different book review templates. The first is a little more tricky than the second, for those of you that want to give yourself a bit more challenge. If that's not challenge enough then why not create your own book review template for yourself to use? Have a look at the others for inspiration and then make your own. You could even decorate it in a style that links to the book you chose.
